Christmas at Simon Pure Smithbrook Kilns

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

The holiday season has arrived. Cards have been sent, trees are being decorated, and Mariah Carey is on the radio (again).

Christmas has also appeared in our window! Bedecked with resplendent rings, beautiful bangles and pretty pendants, the creative abilities of the Simon Pure team are evident in the bespoke jewellery on display.

But did you know that our talented elves are often responsible for the other elements of creativity on show?

So keep reading for a sneaky peak into how we made the perfect Christmas display…

sallty readingSally – a fully qualified jeweller – was the mastermind behind proceedings, embarking on a folding marathon that resulted in our gorgeous trees. Made from unwanted books, each tree contains over 700 pages.

She was also abetted by other members of staff, even the accountant! Karey sportingly crocheted stars and designer Steve – AKA Simon Pure – cut wooden tree toppers by hand before wrapping them in twine. Master Craftsman David displayed a flair for electronics by installing lighted baubles, while labels made by Stuart – the newest member of our workshop team – demonstrated graphic design skills. Directors Kevin and Alix meanwhile maintained morale by providing (and drinking!) numerous cups of tea and coffee. Most importantly, they supplied our Simon Pure family with much-needed mince pies!

So Merry Christmas, from our family to yours.
